Exercise WITH a Babe!!

Ok... anyone want in on a support thread that is all about exercise WITH a babe??? I am thinking of kinda ripping off the cleaning support group (sorry guys) and having everyone write in with a daily goal. This is a support YAY kind of thing.... like YAY I did my 12 jumping jacks in font of babe in chair... babe thinks its hysterical, I moved for 3 minutes!! Whatever the goal, just to post about getting it done, screwing it up, or maybe beating the goal and doing extra!! joy.gif But the idea is to share how we are doing this with a babe, how the babe likes it, and if we are hanging in and doing it!!

So here's mine....

My daily goal is to ride the &^%$$# recumbent bike three times a day, for at least 15 min each, while holding DS in my arms.. its the only way this works! I can sub a good walk for the middle bike....

so I did bike  but not enough is biggrinbounce.gif

I did all three is.. energy.gif

I did extra is...jumpers.gif

missed it completely is.. hide.gif

baby had fun...bfinfant.gif....meaning he had a good nurse and maybe even a nap rather than say yoinking out the headphones that I am trying to squeeze in an audiobook on..

so yesterday is sorta like

I went to bed late. but babe fell asleep in my arms on the bike, and I made thirty minutes, and he stayed asleep and cosy!biggrinbounce.gifbfinfant.gif

I went for a good exercise walk with the baby in the stroller today- felt good!

How did you get all those cool emoticons (is that what they are called) I thought those were gone with the new format? glad to see them- I want to access them-

There was a little smiley face in the toolbar... off to the right .. I only just found it, and there I've spotted it again bouncy.gif so I guess it wasn't a freak chance! This is the first time I have used them, I figured they would be encouraging! I am bummed cuz it was perrrrrfect out today, and I blew it indoors, just zoned and missed my walk demon.gif really bad time management... like being awake now! Gotta go bike.....

I've actually started taking my little guy to the gym with me.  He'll be 7 weeks old tomorrow, so he's very good at passing out in the carseat while I'm driving around.  Then I just pop it into the snap n go and park the snap n go right in front of the treadmill or elliptical machine and do my thing until he starts waking up.  Still too cold here to do much of anything outside, so this is working for me!

Ohhh definitely going to try laps with DS in one of those! Great idea.

I do a lot of yoga, crunches, stretching while DS is playing on the floor. He loves that I'm down there with him and he just does his own thing (banging blocks, chewing on his toys, waving play silks around etc.) and watches the mama yoga show. We go on one good stroller walk a day.

We also recently just set up a small home gym- DH has a heavy bag and speed bag and some free weights and I use the treadmill. We work out as a family- DS watches DH pound the heavy bag and mama on the treadmill while he bounces in his jolly jumper!!! It's way easier than working out who gets to go to the gym and who gets to look after DS. Everyone wins!

I'm really glad that DS will grow up seeing mama and daddy exercising- I feel it's really important having grown up in a house where no one was into exercising or sports.

Ooh! I need support! I'm 11 months post partum and have not lost enough of the baby weight!

So, my goal is to do stretching, some sit ups and jumping jacks every day. I started yesterday. DS just tried to crawl on me while I was on the floor. Not as easy stretching while a little one is crawling over your legs!

joy.gif for exercising! Once it gets warmer, I plan on daily walks/ jogs with the baby. Wish this snow would go away!
