How long to hold onto clothes that don't fit...

I've gained 25 pounds in one year. Yikes, I know! I was recenetly diagnosed with something pretty serious that is the culprit. I am working hard to lose weight and become healthier. However, it just isn't coming off. I busted out my post-maternity clothes to wear which was really depressing because I had lost all of my baby weight. I only have a few things that fit me. I have a closet full of clothes and nothing much to wear. I have a lot of things in the next size down that are just taking up space. I'm not sure if I will be able to lose all of this weight because of the medical condition that I have. However, money is tight and if I do lose even some of the weight the clothes would really come in handy. I just don't know what to do. Any thoughts or ideas would be of great help.

I'd hang on to your favorites and let the rest go.  Unless your weight is *currently* inching downward, in which case I'd hold on to it.

I go throughneverything and only keep what you really like regardless of the size then go from there , that's what vie been doing sense I have a nine month old and am trying to have another I dint know what size I will be in a year

I'd keep enough that you can get through a week in the smaller size and *no more.* For me that might mean 3-5 pairs of pants, maybe 5-7 shirts and just 1 dress ( I don't go out often).

Id go thru the closet and keep what you like and looks good.  What doesnt fit list on craigslist and see if it sells.  Maybe keep a couple of the smaller sized things but in all honestly get yourself clothes that look good and fit well with any $$ you make from selling what you can.  (I know adult clothes dont bring in huge $$ but every littl bit helps)
