false bfp while breastfeeding?

just curious, nursing my 16 mo, had a recent pg loss (very early/ 'chemical') but while discussing it with the ob, he mentioned that it was possible to get a very brief 'false positive' while ovulating with nursing-- at the time, i knew that wasn't the case for me b/c i had other symptoms, so i didn't think to follow that discussion any further, but has anyone else ever heard of this?

Never heard of it and I ran a discussion board for TTC while breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding can shorten your luteal phase (causing your period to come before a pregnancy is fully implanted) but according to every source I've come across it can't affect hcg any other way.

maybe that's what he meant.  i wasn't exactly in the frame of mind to remember things correctly..

wifeofant.. tell me more about what you're describing.  i wonder if that's what happened-- but my cycles are super long and i'm not charting.
