Wisdom tooth: filled or extracted?

Thread Starter

I would appreciate any thoughts.  I have all my wisdom teeth.  In general they have been pretty healthy; I have one tooth that I had a (very traumatic) filling done in a couple years ago.  The filling fell out last week.  I am really unsure how to progress; and if I ask dentists, they'll just say to have my wisdom teeth extracted.

I am open to any suggestions, websites or other rec's regarding wisdom teeth health.

Thanks.

If the tooth is not bothering  you I'd have it filled again.  A good dentist won't tell you to have it extracted just because the filling fell out unless it(the tooth) is in a position to cause problems.

See if you can find a holistic dentist in your area.  If they extract it, make sure the dentist pulls all the ligamentous material out of there so as not to create a cavitation.  If they don't know what a cavitation is, then I'd find another dentist, because they will certainly create a cavitation if they remove it improperly.

your tooth, your money. You tell the dentist what you want. If you have room keep it. Mine have pushed my front teeth out and I look like a dork now so I'm coming from a different perspective.
