I can't imagine. I don't do refined sugars but I don't avoid all fructose. What do you eat?

Why do you avoid fructose? Just curious smile.gif

I'm confused too, so you don't eat fruit at all?

i am fructose intolerant. i must avoid most sources of fructose. i can only have certain fruit that has equal amounts of fructose and glucose. i mostly eat meat, white rice and potatoes. i cant have fructans either which is in briwn rice, whole wheat, and certain veggies.

just looking for support. but i really dont think anyone else here is fructose intolerant. none of my threads received many responses. oh well.

I have been looking for info on this as well.  I believe my 4 yo DS also has this (he is also allergic to the top 8, bananas, corn, blueberries and has Celiac)  I got no help either.  I am so sorry for you.  Wish there were something out there for dealing with this.

I've been wondering if I am fructose intolerant.  Some people says it can cause high lipase in breastmilk which I have a major case of.  I also have tummy troubles but I'm not sure if its linked to fructose since there is fructose in just about everything.

i have been told to go on an elimination diet. meat, white potatoes, white rice, broccoli, and tea. that is what i am starting with. white home made bread doesnt hurt me and neither does white pasta. strawberry's work for me too. lemons and limes are ok for me.

they can diagnose dietary fructose intolerance with a breath test and the gastro's office. hereditary fructose intolerance can be more severe but you can have a hereditary predisposition to develop dietary fructose intolerance... i am looking into seeing if maybe we are missing some pancreatic enzymes. i am taking my children in for the breath test. as they look and act just like me.

you can do a fructose free diet. the answer is home made. make everything yourself. it isnt that hard and you feel better. :)

all of my biological children have now been tested and came back positive for fructose intolerance. my 15 yr ds also has a bacterial over growth. i am sure my mom is as well. so now we are going to get our dna tested. they are thinking a mitochondrial disorder.

since we all get fibro, my older brother died of spina bifida, and one of my cousins has autism, i am thinking it is a disorder which can affect our atp axis.
