ok Ladies.... I need some ideas. DH will be gone during the week for two weeks, coming home on the weekends, so I get to have 10 days of super cheap eating! Just me and DD to worry about. Any super cheap meal ideas?  DD is lactose and fruit intolerant....

I know that I can make sandwiches, tuna salad, spaghetti, a big pot of lima beans, DD will eat veggie pasta, etc. I just wanted to know if there were something else that I was missing. I want to use these 10 days of simple eating to make up for not doing so well with our no eating out in March and my budget spending on home projects :( :( TIA!

lol.gif  Could be...I know it's driving me crazy!! Now I'm having trouble quoting myself, too!! When I try to quote my last post it shows up with my comment asking where everyone is...but not my list of meals. Argh....

yes. or yes. Different folks seem to have different goals, some are here because they never (or very very rarely) eat out, and are looking for support/new ideas/etc. Others (like me!!) are here because they eat out more often than they'd like and are trying to make more meals at home. So, whatever your goal may be, welcome! The more the merrier :) I've gotten a few really great meal ideas from this (and previous months') thread!

Well, time to face my totals for the month:

Went out to lunch:        4 times

Went out for dinner:     5 times

Grand Total: 9 meals out this month. Hmm, that's pretty crummy :( I think that's worse than last month, and more than twice what my goal was at the beginning of this month. Oh well, I'll just blame it on a crazy month, and vow to do better next time! (I guess I shouldn't beat myself up too bad, a few short months ago we were eating 3 sometimes 4 meals out each week! So even if it was a "bad" month, it's still far better than it was!)

10! I ate out 10 times????????????????????? I am so embarrassed. Yes, at least half of those were while we were out of town. But I can say that the little lunches and sneaky breakfast that I allowed myself while DD and I were out should have been avoided. What makes this all worse is that I don't even attempt to count DH's lunches during the work week. I can tell that he doesn't like to take lunch with him so I only force it but so much. Next month, I am going to be a nazi! I have to make up for this crazy month in April. It's sandwiches and tuna for DD and me for the next 2 weeks!

Thanks for giving me inspiration girls :)

Sorry I dropped out for a few days, MDC wasn't letting me post for some weird reason. Also, I will admit that although we didn't eat out together at all this month, twice I got myself a roll and some lunch meat at the commissary and had a sandwich on the go while grocery shopping. And once I had Subway with some girl friends after our Bible study. So three meals were eaten out this month, not too bad. And I packed hubby's lunch every day, so I'm proud of myself for that!
