so ummmmm

I've never even hit a deer, or a cat, or a dog...not even a mouse! But tonight on my way home from a MOPS steering meeting, I hit a damn mountain lion! I thought I was hallucinating...till I realized I was going to hit it! It's head/shoulders hit the front end of my van (passenger side) and left a huge dent. It wasn't lying in the road, but it was dark and I was NOT going to investigate! Dh works for fish and wildlife so THEY can investigate! It was right outside of town though so I'm sure they'll check it out...too close to houses!

a mountain lion...seriously.

I didn't know my eyes could get that wide!

Wow! You don't do things by halves, do you?

Wow.

Thank you for not being crazy and investigating. :)

Well, that is a story! I missed a bear by inches last year, the only reason I managed to not hit it is because I was in DH's BMW and that thing had excellent brakes. I wouldn't of gotten out of the car either!

A mountain Lion!! OMG! That is crazy!

Lyme is actually very common in  VA.  Half of the people I know have had it.  So, thankfully, there is no thought of it not being real around here. Still, I won't take a negative as a sure thing.

Now he is vomiting, and his temp is changing from 95-99!  This is really getting to me!

The baby has been kicking very hard recently, which makes me happy, but I have a secret...  I don't like how it feels!  I am glad the baby is active, but it feels weird.  Do you think I just need to get used to it?

*****

And seriously, A MOUTAIN LION?  I am glad you are okay, but that is very weird!

I kinda feel this way. I still only get sporadic kicks so it's always reassuring when I feel them. But then I kinda get creeped out by them too. I mean... there's a little human that's kicking my organs from inside my body!!!!

I've had good massage things!

Last night my hips were hurting so I got Dusty to massage me. It's funny because it's something I think would help a lot of you, but I get bashful about sharing ;) If I do and you get your partners to do it, you will end up having to put out but maaaaaan. It's so helpful! (Deep massage around your ischium - the bones you sit on. Charmingly positioned on your knees, butt up high ;)) I said I wanted him to do it every night and he just said, sure, but I'll have to put out. As if he's not the one always turning ME down :P

And then today I got to go in to get a Mayan Abdominal Massage! SO GOOD! She has taken the extra pregnancy class, which I have not yet. I must. I do most of it, but she knew some nice little tricks. Man. The belly work was great, but I already did most of it so my uterus was already nicely centered and not sitting too low. But the hip work! *swoon* Heh. She did ischium work as well, but different angle! ;)

My neck and chest remain crazy tight and I haven't given a massage for awhile where I had full sensation in my right hand. Actually, I'm not completely sure I've had an -hour- where I had full sensation in my right hand.. She did a lot of work there but it's never enough. I wrote a note to the chiropractor I work for Monday saying we need to have a meeting and talk about my leaving. My arms hurt. They're getting congested because of the bad nerve and blood flow. Sometimes I wake up at 4 and 5 in the morning hurting so bad that I have to get up and walk until things loosen up enough to get flow - can't do it laying down. So leaving there will have me doing about 6 fewer hours a week. That should help. Very sad, though. I completely adore my clients there and everyone who works with me is awesome. I don't feel I have a choice.

And Saturday! Saturday I'm going to my old massage school where they're teaching pregnancy massage so I'll be a practice body and get a free 90 minute massage! Deal! :D

I cannot imagine getting through all of this without massage and chiropractic. My main issue is my arms, but I keep the rest happy with the massage. My arms..  I think that I might try to find a way to detach them at night and maybe duct tape them back on in the morning...

Also, I made chocolate pie. Chocolate pie is awesome. Chocolate pudding is just as awesome and a lot less fuss, though, so I think I'll stick to that :P

You sound so happy!  Dude.  Can this be my update instead of yours!?  And I want pie.

I could NOT sleep last night!  My best friend in the whole world had her baby girl last night after a whole day of labor.  I spend all night dreaming about her and the baby and good things!  And DH was snoring, and baby was kicking and it was just a hot mess of a night.  But, I've got a cuppa coffee and Nora is still sleeping.  Gonna be a good day.  There's a new person in the world, everybody!

DD2 is slowly on the mend. No longer having to do nebs but now we are in copious snot production and cough phase. Now DS is coughing. eyesroll.gif Day 4 of sick kids by myself is wearing my patience thin. It wouldn't be so bad if I actually got some sleep but 3 children in my room, 2 of them in my bed, waking my up all night long due to age or illness doesn't allow for that. I really need to get food, we've been living off of soup, pizza, and sandwiches. I'm trying to decide if I can dose DD2 up with cough meds long enough to make a dash through the store after I get DD1 from school. Otherwise I think I'll be screwed because DS is only going to get worse. DH flies in Friday night, spends the night and then leaves first thing Sat morning for the weekend, he will be home for good for a couple weeks anyway Sunday night.

I'm supposed to work Sat morning but I'm really, really wanting to bail. I don't have to be there. My program is manning a booth at a kid's resale thingie. We are trying to get donations of clothes, items, to give to our moms since they are all low-income.. It is brainchild of one of my counselors so she is doing everything and will be there all weekend. My boss wants to be a part of the sales pitch and is going to be there all weekend as well. Just as the supervisor of the actual program, I should show my face, and was planning on being there from 9-1 on Saturday, but I just don't think I have it in me after this week and we are well staffed.... And I think I will still have 2 sick kids that day anyway.

I give you permission to bail!!  You don't need that on top of everything else, with all the sickies.

OMGGG is it August yet?  Or even close?  I am so bored and want my baby!! LOL!!

I bailed. DD2 started going downhill again this afternoon, back to a 103 temp and I have to carry her to the bathroom just to pee. She keeps this up and I'm going to have to drag her into the pedi office tomorrow, it better not be pneumonia again. So I called and just said there was no way I was making it this weekend.

Good. Do you live somewhere that has grocery delivery? It costs more than it should, but it sounds like you could really use it! I'd bring you some if I could. I hope they get better soon :(

No grocery service here. We live rurally anyway and there is no bus service to DD1's school, it is 40+ minutes round trip. I have no option but to still do drop off and pick up regardless of other children. I just strap her in the car, wrap a blanket around her, and turn on a DVD on days like these. I hit the store on the way to do pickup, put her and her blanket in the cart, DS in the front, and threw fruit, veggies, and a couple frozen meals around her, it will at least last us till the weekend. One last trip in tonight and then I'm done. DD1 had gymnastics and they are practicing for some spring show. I usually hang out or DH picks her up after work, but DD2 should not be around other children so we came home yet again.

Just noticed they posted the December DDG. We are moving right along!

I've only quickly skimmed the recent posts (hitting a mountain lion?!) so I want to apologize for not responding.  But I have to tell someone.............

My best friend, who is also my cousin, e-mailed this morning to tell me that she's expecting baby #6 at the end of September!  I can't decide if it's an April Fool's joke from her husband, or if I should get really excited!  Two of her boys are fairly close in age to my boys (our 7-year-olds are 6 months apart, and our 5-year-olds are 9 months apart) but these babies would be very close in age.  I'm going to go crazy until I know if it is true or not.  If I had the car I would hop in and go visit unexpectedly to see if she has a belly yet.  Being on baby #6 I'm sure she would be showing by now.

ETA ~ It's true!  My best friend is having a baby at the end of September!  WooHoo!  She waited this long to tell everyone because she wanted to tell her parents first.  They have been on a two-month long vacation and just returned home.  I'm so excited!

Now I'm off to go back and read through what I've missed in the last week or so and respond to some posts.  We're done with school for the day and I'm procrastinating about the cleaning and laundry I need to start on.

So we'll just wait and see, we've done this SO many times that we don't need to go unless she is retracting or her O2 sats are really low, and it is too early yet to tell if it will turn into pneumonia. I managed to get DD1 a ride into school today but I doubt I can pull it off again.

:-(  When does DH get home?  I can't imagine how tought this must be on you.  I hope she's feeling well very soon!

I just want to hold him and let him sleep in my arms, but he doesn't settle down in my arms anymore. At almost 10 months old he wants to wriggle around and play when he is in my arms. So I just have to try and keep him comforted and try to get as much fluid down him as possible, which isn't easy when he won't drink because it hurts too much.

I hope your little guy is feeling well very soon, also!

The good news is, I found a midwife who will take my new Cigna plan!  They have a birth center in a house out in Marshall, VA, and I love it!

I have my 20 week sono next Monday, then my first appointment with the midwives on Wednesday!!!

I hope DH gets a diagnosis soon!  Yay for finding a midwife!

Yikes!  We have black bears around here.  I've only heard of a couple of accidents involving bears, though.  Definitely a good idea not to get out and investigate!!!!!

I remember thinking it felt really weird with my first.  I eventualy got used to it and loved it.  Although it can be uncomfortable, it is my favorite part of pregnancy now.

If you have sick kids you owe it to the public to stay away from them!  ;-)  My vote is to stay home!

This is my first baby too, and the kicks bothered me at first too. I didn't mind the little flutters here and there- but when its more pf a jab- it kind of bothers me, especially when its several in a row. I've found myself getting more used to it lately. I kind of felt like a baby mom for awhile because it was bothering me.

Has anyone started garage saleing yet? The season is in FULL FORCE here today. We hit up a community wide one that was made up of several neighborhoods and lucked up on some great stuff- 2 vintage Fisher Price toys, a wooden 2 step stool (perfect for a "time out" stool later on down the line), several onesies and outfits, lots of cute bibs and socks, a Bumbo ($5!!!), several blankets, a nursing cover, a pair of Roobez shoes, 2 organic swaddle blankets- All for less than $25!!! I want to garage sale all spring and summer long- but the baby really doesn't need too many more things.

I use Firefox all the time. I love being able to open new tabs instead of a whole new explorer. I also find it faster than explorer too.

Kiddos were supposed to stay home with our sitter, they couldn't come even if they were well. I won't leave DD2 when she is that sick, even though our sitter is excellent with sick kids. I'm ultra careful about sick kids out, DD2 has had chronic lung disease since she was a newborn, so much of our misery could of been prevented had others been a little more careful. In fact, this stupid thing came from our neighbor who we played with the day before the younger sibling ended up in the hospital in respiratory distress. I obviously didn't know they had been ill or else I would of stayed away.

DH flew in late night night, he was supposed to leave again this morning for two more days, but managed to cancel that last night. We spent the day resting. DD2 is still coughing and vomiting, and DS is starting to run a decent fever. I'm still holding out hope it is a mild case in him. Course now I figured out work and the weekend and now Monday is rapidly approaching with still sick kids and I have to do a meeting and time sheets. eyesroll.gif

People keeping asking me IRL about the pg, how it is going, and I'm like um, it's there? It isn't like I have much time to devote to thinking about it! I'm convinced that this one is going to be nameless the first month because we haven't once had the chance to discuss names. My 4y insisting the baby be called Rainbow does not not count.

Would anyone else be put off by this? I'm waiting outside yesterday for DD1 to walk out of school, and a mom I know only in passing starts chatting with me.  I complained about nothing fitting already. She tells me to put everything that doesn't work in a box and she will ship it to a friend she has that is pg with her 3rd. I just said that I'm making things work for now. Really, I'm thinking, how do you not know that my clothes are not already borrowed from someone else or I want 6 children. I just thought it was rather forward, took me off guard This is my last child, but call it superstitious, I won't be getting rid of anything until baby is 6 months old or so.
