Nursing Mamas TTC March - Page 8

Jessica  I think you should start charting again, so you can be sure of whether or not you are ovulating.  As for your nurser, I started 'don't offer, don't refuse' about when DS turned 2; he used to nurse to bed, to nap and frequently throughout the day/night.  Now, at 3, he only nurses to bed; sometimes he asks mid-day (when he used to take his nap, which he dropped at 2.5), but I tell him he can only have booby if we lay down in his bed.

2 years is also when we started encouraging him to sleep in his own bed.  I would lay down to nurse him to sleep in his own room and return to lay down with him whenever he cried for me, leaving once he fell asleep...eventually he started staying a sleep for longer periods of time.  Now, he goes down at about 8pm and comes in to our bed on his own at about 6am and sleeps for another hour or more (I get up at 7am, so sometimes he gets up with me and sometimes he sleeps through to 8 or 9)

Just ovulated yesterday. So my luteal phase is now 5 days. Stupendous. :(

I suppose I should be moved to 2ww, even though it is really only a 4 day wait.

I have gone from 8 to 7 to 5 day LP over the past 3 months! So frustrating...

finsmom - that sounds so frustrating. My period still hasn't returned at 26 months pp, but I have started taking vitex (chasteberry) to help it along. We'll see if it works! I hear that it also helps extend the LP. Maybe it could help you...

Please move me to waiting to O.
I am on cycle day 5 now.

We only have three more months to TTC. Then we need to wait until 2012.
We'll see what God has planned for our family! joy.gif

finsmom- that sounds extremely frustrating. I'm was wondering how you know that your LP is only going to be five days? Do your cycle not vary in length and your LP changes depending on when you O? I'm hoping for you it surprises you and gets a little longer instead of shorter.

AFM: I've been pretty quiet, but I've been charting waiting for O, I just got a positive OPK so, I'm hoping to see a temp shift in the next couple of days. Just trying to get some good BD in before O. I'm really hoping that night weaning DS did the trick to allow me to get pregnant. I'm seeing way more fertile CF than I have since before he was born. Either way I know I'm going to be extremely disappointed if this isn't my month. I know 8-9 month TTC isn't a long time, I just feel like I've put a lot of effort into improving my chances, so why shouldn't this be the month? I'll check back in when I'm ready to move to the TWW.

AimeeBaby: I've been on Vitex for the past 3 months and it has shortened my LP! Lol! I think I may try au naturel next month and see if I can get back to where I started. Vitex did help lengthen my LP for my first, however now that I am nursing it seems to be having the opposite effect! Let me know how it works for you! :)

MamatoD: That's exactly what happens! I am 28 days every single month, on. the. dot. Nursing apparently has caused ovulation to be delayed from my usual day 15 (which it was like clockwork when I was ttc #1) to whatever the heck it wants now! This month I didn't ovulate until day 23!! And AF will most likely be paying her standard visit on day 28. Boo. Miracles can happen though, maybe she'll forget where I live this month! :)

Is it really sad that I have no idea how to chart? DD is 17 months old, and still no PPAF. :P

Thanks!  I have been charting, just not BBT b/c I doubt it would be accurate since DD still nurses 2-3x per night and I get up to pee 2-3x per night.

On CD 31 right now.  No idea when I ovulated b/c I had a few different times where it seemed like EWCM.  I'm willing to bet AF will be here in the next 4-5 days, as my cycles tend to be as long as 36 days sometimes.   *sigh*  I keep checking my cervix, and I know that doesn't show anything, but I always poke/prod at it to see when I'm starting to get AF before it shows on toilet paper. bag.gif  Checked tonight - got the tiniest bit of stringy red stuff mixed w/clear - like so teeny tiny I could barely see it.  But I'm sure it is nothing.  I need to just chill already.  Why can't I be one of those people who gets pregnant easily???  It took 9 months to get pregnant with DD, and now.... who knows?!  greensad.gif

Hi all. Just checking in with an update. I am on cd 31 and have gotten bfns for the past three days, so I'm not expecting much this month. So dissapointing. I guess I need to start charting and dong more than daily sex... because I can't figure out why I'm not catching that elusive egg.

I think you should still try to temp, I've heard that some people can still detect a shift even with uneven sleep. It's worth a shot.

AFM. FF. GAVE. ME. CROSSHAIRS. I could die from the excitement.....hopefully it really was O and hopefully BD 2days earlier was enough, but I'm just glad a may have probably O'd!!!!! ...and hopefully I don't have to wait another +/-120 days for the next one, lol

ETA: I also had a crazy dream last night. I walked in to the living room from one side as DH was walking in from the other. He was holding a medium sized flat-ish fed-ex. He said "guess what finally came?" I walked closer and looked in the box and there was a baby in it! LOL I don't know if that means anything, but I just remembered it and it's crazy that adding this morning's temp gave me crosshairs on FF :D

May I be added to Waiting to Be Ready, I assume? We're TTC but I've been having regular cycles for 10 months now until this month. I'm currently CD 42 with a negative beta :-( so I'm hoping AF arrives soon. I've been regular with a 31 day cycle for 10 months now so who knows what is going on. Looking forward to sharing the TTc journey with you all. Hopefully, it's short an sweet for all of us. Oh, and I'm currently frequently nursing my 23 month old son.

I will try!  Guess I need to start tomorrow... checked and there is some more very slight spotting.  So AF will probably be here full force tomorrow.  I need to order some OPKs too.  Guess I may as well go all out, huh?  Problem is the month I finally got pregnant with DD was when I gave up and didn't BBT/no OPKs, and hardly DTD at all.  LOL!  But it's so much harder to track things when nursing.  *shrug*  I'm also taking Maca, so we'll see if that helps.

We had DD's 2nd Birthday Party today with two of her little friends near her age.  They had so much fun running around, playing, eating, etc.  What a blast!  I just can't wait to have another little one of my own running around (er... well lying around for awhile haha).

Yay @ Crosshairs!  :)  GL Mama!  What a funny dream!

Well chat says I should try this wed - sat but I think my charting may be messed up due to cycle changes over the last few months.

2 cycles of 47 days then 31 days and last one was 27 days which is my normal so we put in a food effort this week wink1.gif on my 'nomal' O days and we'll put in some more effort this week for good measure. *heres hoping*
