We had our DS at home in 2008, and other than being longer than I expected, it was a wonderful experience, and I can't imagine birthing any other way. So, we are due with our second child in early April. We have been living in the basement of our ILs house to try to get some debts paid down. It really is a nice place. We have our own kitchen and laundry room, and everything else, but it is not sealed of completely from the upstairs.

Anyway, long story short, there was chance that we were not going to be able to move out before the baby came which would leave us with two options. The first would be to convince DH's parents to allow us to labor and birth here, even though they already told us they wouldn't want us to do that when we first told them we were expecting. The second would be to use our midwife's new birthing center. Of the two, I would probably have used the birthing center, but I was so upset at the thought of having to change our plans over during the last few weeks! Maybe I'm just spoiled from my wonderful birthing experience with our first DS, but I don't want to birth anywhere other than my own home! I want my own space that I am comfortable in. I don't want to have to worry about what to pack, and when to leave, and how long we can stay afterwards before we have to pack-up and leave. I really feel that our safest and best option is to birth in our own home. Anyway, luckily, we found a place to move out to that seems very nice, and is in our price range, and we are approved to move in! We will probably be moving in March 12th. Hopefully that won't be cutting it too close to our April 6th due date. I am just so relieved to have things back on track for another wonderful homebirth!
