What age to catch a ball using a baseball glove?

DD's 5th birthday is coming up soon and I was thinking of getting her a baseball glove for her birthday, but wondering if she was old enough to start using one or if I should wait until next year. What age was your child when they learned how to use a glove? I should add, she is not a "physical" kid, so no real talent in the sports arena.

Thanks!

If she's not physically all that coordinated, I'd wait a year or two. Dd played t-ball last year when she was in K. The kids on the team were mostly 6 and 7, with a few older 5 year olds. (It was a K-1 team.) Very few of them could catch with any reliability, and it was sort of terrifying to be around when they threw.

I'd get one.  My now 4.5 year old was catching last summer, so he was just barely 4.  It's not something that automatically comes natural, like everything else you have to do it to know if you can.

So I'd get one and if she's interested, use it.  If not, then put it up for awhile.
