castor oil

 ok i ended up taking castor oil after being talked into it today and now i am contracting stronger like i wanted but it hardly made me go like they say well anyway the question i have is does it harm the baby cause i have heard from so many it doesn't and so many it does and im so worried now that im thinkin of callin in and tellin them what i done. i was so desperate after being in labor for 2 months on and off i just am tired and worn out, my doc took me off pre labor meds and now i am stayin at 2 cm at 36 she says she won't stop it but won't help it so thats why i took it

You are 36 weeks? If so, I understand you being tired & ready to meet your little one, but every extra day inside does more than we think. If taking the castor oil didn't work, I wouldn't do it again. Too risky for a baby to purposefully come out at 36 weeks, IMO.

I agree with the previous poster. 36 weeks is way too early to self induce. If baby came on his own, fine, but it's really not your call to say that baby should come.  It's hard those last few weeks! It's so tiring and draining.

Who talked you into taking it? I would caution doing something your care provider advised not doing.
