Hormonal Change 11 mo pp causing darkened nipples???!

I hope I'm posting this in the right place.

Today I noticed that my nipples are strikingly darker than usual. But it's simply impossible for me to be pregnant because I have the Mirena IUD. It just could not be.

Is there a hormonal change around this time while breastfeeding that could cause this? Can PMS cause darkened areolas?!

Did you take a pregnancy test?  The IUD is a reliable method of birth control, but it isn't full proof......  Please update us.....  :)
