Thinking About Motherhood

Hi 

I've been poking around this website for weeks. We are not pregnant just yet. I'm a super planner. (We'll begin TTC in September) I want to be prepared as can be. I'm terrified of the prospect ahead, but refuse to let fear stop me. The more I read about births, parenting, children the more at ease I feel.

well welcome to mdc!  i was terrified too, and frankly still am, but about different things :) but it's amazing and wonderful too.

just keep reading everything you can get your hands on, and thinking about who you and your husband are and want to be, and want your family to be, too. take everything you read or are told with a grain of salt, and follow your momgut [which you have, even now! :D ] on everything.

I too am not pregnant yet, but hey, planning is better than not knowing, huh?  I have found this site in the past 2 weeks to be very encouraging and a great companion to the Mothering Magazines. 

I now know what type of birth I want (waterbirth) and by reading some of the tips on the boards, I know that breastfeeding will be a great experience when the time comes.  I want to wait until I finish college and have a job before I have a child, but it is wonderful to just dream about how my pregnancy, birth, and parenting experience will be.

Hi!

I'm new also. It is nice to know that I'm not the only super planner. Though I wouldn't be TTC for a couple years.

I'm one of those OCD "I have a plan for my life and I'm sticking to it" people. lol Though I do have two four legged kids.

Yea, my four-legged kids are my two cats.  They really keep me on my toes, especially my kitten Angie.

I know how you feel. I've got a 3 year old Siberian Husky that acts like he's still a puppy. Plus a 5 year old Jack Russell/ Min-Pin mix that likes to act like a grumpy teenager. lol Can't wait to add a baby to the mix though.
