?'s on Sewing Wool Interlock

Hi!

I just acquired my first yard of wool interlock from Nature's Fabrics and hope to make pants/shorties for my DD.  I have experience sewing wool sweaters into pant but haven't used interlock yet.  Do I need a ballpoint needle?  Is one layer sufficient or should I double it?  It seems so much thinner than a sweater...

Ok well now I've washed and felted it and I know I don't need to double layer it!  So thick!  I read somewhere about using a stretch needle and a walking foot.  Thoughts?

You only need one layer. Do make sure it's really shrunk though. I did mine 3 times on hot wash and hot dry.

Remember to replace the lanolin if you are using these over cloth diapers.

You do not need a stretch needle/ball point or walking foot now that you have felted it.

Enjoy your interlock after I bought mine I never used a recycled sweater again. (at least not for covers)

Oooh!  Thanks so much for your reply!  It's been sitting and waiting for me to work with it until my walking foot order came in, but maybe I can attempt it without it!

Oh, and I can't wait to get rid of the recycled longies.  They just never seem quite right.
