How soon for a second one after first cesaraen?

Hi, My first one was a cesaraen, and i want to have another one pretty soon because i'm well into my thirties. My q is how soon can i think of a second one without having a serious chance of miscarriage? I asked my ob doc and she was like why dont you enjoy the first one first, and think later, but the clock keeps ticking tick-tock in my mind.

My doctor told me 2 years between caesarean and conception however, I have many friends who had them much closer. I think it depends on the individual. But you should let your body heal, it is major surgery.
Best wishes!

I wasn't aware that there was an increased risk of miscarriage with closely spaced babies -- or is that just for c/s? What's your source on that?

I've mostly been reading about spacing guidelines for VBAC, and for that, the NIH says 18 months (birthday to due date) while most practitioners in the US seem to want to see 24 months (again, birthday to due date).

My midwife said to wait a year after DS was born by c-section. This made sense to me, especially as I wanted to breastfeed for at least 12 months. I got a BFP the day DS turned 14 months :)
