This case was originally filed in 2000.....it's sad that it takes so long for some of these cases to be decided.

The Bruesewitz case was filed in 1995.  The daughter is about 18.

The Haynes family is lucky that the vaccine court did not remove their particular vaccine damage before they filed.  That was  the problem with the Bruesewitz family.

There are two Bruesewitz cases, so it's not entirely comparable. Eleven years here is very long, but I can't tell offhand from skimming the decision how much of it was due to maneuvering (I don't mean that perjoratively) by the petitioners. It looks to be averaging about 3.5 years (here, under "Program Performance Measures"; no source I've been able to find explains what the asterisks are for).

[ETA.--The issue of the change in table injuries by HHS that affected the Bruesewitzes isn't really a difference here, as the Hayneses similarly had to show causation in fact.]
