I honestly can't tell what I'm looking at but I'm going to guess girl since I see nothing dangling.

I'm not experienced with this. I've only seen one boy myself. But, I'm going to guess girl.

Well the tech told me 100% girl, but I guess I am in denial. My husband and I have 2 boys together and he had 2 boys from a previous relationship before me so what are the odds of us getting a girl. We are both very excited but do not want to be let down if it turns out to be a boy, she said it is definatly a girl. So if you think it looks like a girl to than maybe we will get our little girl finally! It kind of works out because I was planning on a tubal after this baby.

When was the u/s done? If it was the later u/s done around 18-22 weeks, I'd expect to see something sticking up if it were a boy. Based on that I would definitely say girl. That would be very cool!

I've had 3 boys but only found out the gender ahead of time once. He looked a lot different than yours. If yours is a girl, you give me hope. Like I said, I have 3 boys. This is my last pregnancy so my last chance for a girl. I'm pretty sure I'm having another boy, though. I should find out next Friday.

It was done at 17wks and a couple of days, I was sure it was going to be a boy. I guess anything is possible! Hopefully you will have a healthy baby and maybe it will be a girl too! I compared this ultrasound to the ones of my sons and it does look completly different, I have another ultrasound on the 28th of this month and I will be like 21 or 22 weeks so that one should be the sure thing!

I'd say I'm 99.9% sure that is a girl. Congrats!! :)

the odds? 50/50 still!

I say girl, but I've only ever seen boys on U/S

I guess anything is possible, so far everyone is saying girl so I am hopeful that we finally got our girl! Perfect ending to the story being that she will be the last baby for me! Thanks for your feedback.

Not necessarily. I think the number of boys is slightly higher than the number of girls so it's not quite 50/50. Also, I read about a study that showed that women who have a son as their first born are more likely to have only boys afterward. Women who had a girl as their first born were equally likely to have either boys or girls later.

Of course, none of that means that if you've had 10 boys you won't ever have a girl. Anything is possible. winky.gif

Marine Wife is right, your odds slightly favor boys, especially since you have both already had more than one boy. This is due to your particular body chemistry which can favor either boy or girl sperm.  Also the timing of intercourse relative to when you ovulate affect the outcome - if you have intercourse 2-3 days before ovulation, odds favor girl since girl sperm live longer but are slower moving. If you dtd right before, on the day of, or the day after ovulation, odds favor boy. BUT, it's too late now to tweak it!

Very early on, this time I knew I was having a girl. I just felt more "girly"! Breasts more tender at the beginning, NO sex drive spike like I had in the other pregnancies (I have 3 boys), more moody, and very little heartburn (which is caused by increase of testosterone in your system and more associated with boys). If your tech was an experienced tech, she probably knows what she is looking at. My tech said the "3 lines" were very telling for a girl and said I was definitely having a girl. It is very rare for them to be wrong, although it can happen I suppose.

Well I have 3 girls from a previous 10 year realationship, but then met my husband and we had 2 boys. The same tech did the ultrasound on both of my boys so I do think she knows, I just dont want to tell our family girl if it is a boy.

Well, there's always a possibility that the person doing the scan is wrong. The only way around that dilemma with your family is to not tell them anything.

You guys are giving me hope that I could actually have a girl. I still feel pretty strongly that this is a boy. That could just be a defense. I had myself convinced that #2 was a girl. Did not found out through u/s and was disappointed at birth (only for a second). I wouldn't allow myself to think one way or the other with #3 and again didn't find out before birth. Another boy and another second of disappointment. This time around I feel I really need to know ahead of time. I need time to digest that I will never have a girl so I can fully enjoy the moment of birth with my last baby.

I am in demial too. After 6 boys, the doctor has told me the next is a girl. I am so shocked. He is not 100% certain though.
