PCOS worries

I am new here! Finally found a doctor to listen to me. I have come off the pill and had no periods since. 7 months ago. She send me for blood tests - which came back fine for thyroid. I now have a PCOS scan booked for 1st April which just seems so long away. I was sent for a scan about 10 years ago when I was at uni, because my skin was so horrifically spotty. I chickened out and did not go. Now I am trying to conceive I really wish I had gone.

How long does it take to get anything sorted if the result is PCOS? I know stressing won';t help but it's so hard to not be stressed, as you all know!

I was diagnosed with PCOS when we had been trying for #2 for 2 years.  We first went through a battery of blood tests including a fasting glucose test to see if I was insulin resistant, which I was that goes hand in hand with PCOS.  I had an ultrasound to look at my ovaries and classic string of pearl cysts so I was put on Metformin and we conceived the first month following.  So there is hope, sometimes the Metformin can take a while to sort out irregular cycles.  I think it's different for everyone some get pregnant right away some don't.  I have also heard great things about Femara for women with PCOS.  We are ttc #3 with the same protocol and have had no luck this very week will be 1 year      trying :( so maybe Femara for me next.  Weight loss also really helps with PCOS if you are overweight, I lost about 20lbs before being able to conceive with each pregnancy and I am at about 11lb loss right now so hopefully it will help me this time too.  I wish you luck and hope for your sake it's not PCOS.
