I need a new car seat! Please help me decide on the right one.

I don't have a car, but do get rides from friends and my baby must be in a car seat of course. We use the bucket now, but as soon as he gains about 4 more pounds he'll be to big for it. I need a car seat the rear faces and is super easy (and fast) to install each time we use the car. I'm also on a budget. My baby is 5 1/2 months old right now and I'd love for the car seat to last for a few years. I'm in Montreal.

I don't know Canadian car seats well. I know there are some stipulations where the weights are different. In the US, for an occasionally used seat on a low budget, I would probably just get a Cosco Scenera, one of the 40lb rear facing ones. It's very affordable, light weight. Can be a bit tricky on the install, you would most likely need a pool noodle in some cars but it's pretty straight forward. I've never had a car be incompatible with it, just some that need a little more encouragement.
