I was vegan before we met, and vegetarian up until recently. He's been enthusiastic but never on board 100% with vegetarianism, even though he's reaped health benefits from a lot of the things that come with living a healthier lifestyle. We're both at a university, need I say more. Anyway, we've been incorporating fish and lots of greens and whole grains, and we drink raw bottled kombucha regularly (I need to get on that, lol).

I feel like it doesn't fly in the face of "tradition" to eat very little (moderate) amounts of cow/steer and chicken meat, and mostly plant foods and what dairy/eggs we feel is necessary. The documented health benefits of that are most definitely out there, and then you can avoid discrepancies of the whole grass-fed & pastured issue being "exempt" from those studies (which by all means they should be - just sayin').  Â
