Day 7 on weight watchers. Â Made it through the weekend and I kept on track both days. Â Hooray! Â Tomorrow is weigh in for me and I am so excited! Â I know I have lost a few -- my pants feel loose and my face and shoulders are feeling less puffy. Â Oh, so good to finally be on the right track and doing something good for myself. Â I have been skipping my own self care for a long time now. Â

wow, what a crazy week. i totally took a whole week "off" because i was both sick and discouraged. i didn't do a minute of exercise for the whole week, and i 'cheated' a bit with some junky food (though i did keep that all to one day)... the only things i still followed was eating within my calorie range and not eating past 8pm..... i totally thought i'd either gain or maintain this week.... and i actually LOST 2 lbs?!! yea! maybe i just needed a break from it all?Â
Â
that brings me to 19 lbs lost in the last 8 weeks.  can't wait to make it to 20 lbs by next week!! i'm definitely back to exercising this week, and no more junk.

Well, I haven't weighed myself this morning yet, but I will. I figured out why I didn't feel like exercising last week and why I kept slipping off the wagon. I'm pregnant!!!
So weight-wise, my goal is to continue to lose slowly over the first and maybe even second trimester and to not go above what I weigh now for the entire pregnancy. I'm going to continue to run and eat good foods and think that will be a safe goal. I hope you ladies don't mind if I stick around for accountability. Just because I'm preggers doesn't give me the right to binge or quit exercise, right?!C
Congrats!!!!! How exciting for you!! Since it seems that we're neighbors, please let me know if you need anything (I'm a labor and postpartum doula). What a great reason to be healthy!!

Weigh-In Day!
Â
Started: 1/1/11:Â 256 pounds
             2/1/11: 242 pounds
             3/1/11: 236 pounds
       last week: 233 Pounds
        this week: 231 Pounds
Â
That brings me to 25 pounds since the new year! So thrilled about this progress. Really hoping to make my next mini goal of 225 by the end of this month -- need a 3 pound loss each week to make it happen and I think I can do that, especially if I start working out more. I have been a little lacking in that department - working out about 2 times a week for the last couple of weeks. I prefer to be on a 4-5 times a week schedule and need some motivation to get back there!

Rough day today. My husband was out of town, so I had to take my dd to preschool this morning. We both overslept because of the time change.  Then, she yells out that there's snow outside. I couldn't believe it. It wasn't in the forecast. It was enough to make it a pain to clean off the cars and drive. Not what I wanted to deal with today. Oh well.Â
Â
I'm still trying to decide if ww online is enough to motivate me. I count calories, but don't do a very good job of being consistant. I just don't know if ww would be any better for me, except that I had money into it.Â

Jenn - Welcome!!!
Â
Motivated Mama - Congrats, that is so awesome! We have been having trouble conceiving and I am pretty sure my weight is the problem. Another 17lbs to go and I will be below my pre-preg weight with DD so that makes me hopeful my fertility will get back on track.Â
Â
AFM - I am down 0.5kg this week, so a bit more than a pound. I am really hopeful that this will push me out of the plateau I have been on for the last month (grrr). Nearly a week into Lent and I am feeling really good (I gave up white starches - sugar, white rice, white flour, potatoes). I can really notice a difference in my hunger levels. I think I was riding the sugar roller coaster without even knowing about it. The weather has been quite nice the last few days so we have a serious snow-melt going on and I am really hoping to be able to get out and walk/run on our path system soon.

Finished week 1 on Weight Watchers and weighed in today. Â I lost 1 pound and I was really disappointed with it until I realized what an amazingly successful week I had. Â I ate very well -- more veggies, waaaaaaaayy less bread and butter, stayed within my points every day, exercised 4 times, slept better and cared for my three kids as they all had the stomach flu. Â Not bad at all. Â
Â
So, here is to the start of week 2. Â I went to the gym and took a Step class. Â I don't think I have done that in 10 years. Â I kept up with the class, sweated buckets and really enjoyed it. Â I think I'll try to do it again next Tuesday. Â Still eating well, lots of big salads and vegetable soup, lean chicken, measured portions of potatoes/bread/rice and feeling really good. Â

BTW it's a bad week (emotionally) for me. My mom's 8yr "anniversary" is the 17th...you would think it would get easier as the years go by, not for me! I am having a really hard time with it this year IDK if it's b/c I look at DD and wish so badly she could have known her. All she ever wanted was to be a grandma. I show DD pics of her and say "That's your babcia and she loves you very much" IDK how much that will really do for her though...I know when we were little my mom used to say that about her grandma (prababcia) and we never cared...

That's great Ruthie!
Â
I am sorry you are having a hard week, Sosurreal.
Â
For those on WW - do you use your weekly points? Â I went out for my weekly ladies' night last night and despite trying to make good choices I ate 46pts! Â Well, I am giving myself too much credit - I drank 4 glasses of wine and ate dessert. Â LOL! Â But for a meal I chose a "light" chicken dish with 2 vegetable sides, and I chose a "mini" dessert - so it definitely could have been worse.
Â
Anyhow, even though I had 20pts for dinner and I used 26 weekly points I can't shake this feeling that I blew it and weigh in is going to suck.  :(  Those old ideas die hard, I guess.  I am really fighting with myself not to eat under my points today and to just stick with the plan.  Trying not to fall back into my old habit of binging and starvation, that's what got me 200lbs overweight.  :(

I have only been at this a week, so I have exactly 7 days of experience with the new ww program. Â I ate 38 of the 49 weekly points allowance and I needed them! Â I ran and exercised a lot this week and did not eat any of those points. Â
Â
I remember doing ww years ago and while I lost a lot of weight, I felt like I was hovering at just above starving all the time. Â And that was when we had to count all fruits and even carrots. Â This new system feels like a lot more food, but more manageable. Â I think I can stick to this as a life long healthy eating plan and not a lose-weight-really-fast and then go back to what I was doing before strategy. Â
Â
I think that is why I was feeling like I should have had a bigger drop in pounds this week. Â When I have done ww before, I lost weight so fast! Â But f course, I suffered every stinking minute and couldn't wait to stop doing it. Â I am trying to think more long term this time and develop good eating habits and not just good quick weight loss habits. Â The weight may come off a little slower, but maybe I will stick with it longer. Â
Â
So, I think you are doing great. Â You made good food choices and worked in a celebratory meal without going over your weekly points. Â That sounds just right to me. Â

sosurreal: I'm coming up on the 3rd anniversary of my mom being gone. It seems so long, but so short. I think about her a lot. My youngest was 11 months when she died. I don't think my oldest, who was 8, remembers her much now. It hurts so much. She was getting ready to have them over for a big sleep over and take them shopping. I wish that would have happened first.Â
Â
triana: 18 lbs, whoa!!! that's biggest loser style.
Â
Ruthie: I always felt like I was hovering around starving on ww, too. I just signed up again for online this morning. I'm hoping the new system works better for me. I think if I emphasize the veggies and eat less carbs, I'll be ok. I have a protein shake that is stevia sweetened that usually fills me up. I'm going to reserve that for when I get that lingering starving feeling.Â
Â
I'll probably spread out my weekly points throughout the week unless I know I have something coming up. I might reserve a bit more for the weekend. My husband is a big night eater, which is hard for me to handle. I used to not snack at all at night, but seeing him pig out makes me hungry. I need to find a project to keep my mind and hands busy.
