organic formula recommendations

Anyone have experience / knowledge about any of them?

We supplement with a little formula for DS at daycare.  I really like Baby's Only Organic by Nature's One.  All the ingredients are organic, and they do not use corn syrup solids - they use brown rice syrup as the sweetener.  Additionally, the do not use the DHA additive that is in all the other formulas, even the organic ones.  It's made using some pretty nasty sounding process.

 

I believe they will send you a free sample if you call the number on the website.  www.naturesone.com

 

They advertise it as "Toddler Formula" because they believe breastfeeding is best for the first year, but it is nutritionally equivalent to any other formula on the market.

Good to know - thanks.  I do want the DHA additive though.  I had not thought about that.

 

I may just try Earth's Best.  We use their diapers (sometimes) and used their food for my toddler, so why not.  

 

Unless anyone else has some other suggestions?

Just as an FYI, Nature's One does sell a DHA supplement that can be added.  Good luck in your search!

Earth's Best, Vermont Organics, and Wal-Mart's store brand generic organic formula are all made by the same company. Last time I checked, they all included DHA. HTH.

I would recommend making your own formula. I made DS1's formula and it was not too time consuming. I loved that I knew EXACTLY what was in it. The formula I used is a widely known recipe from the natural Dr Weston A Price. My DS1 thrived on it! I would defiantly recommend making your own over powdered, canned formula.

I used baby's only from nature's one with ds1 and he thrived on it.  I really respect the company and trusted that it was the best formula out there for my baby.  Plus it smelled like pancake batter which led to pancake smelling poops :)  The other brands I tried were super stinky!
