bread machine recipes

Thread Starter

I'm borrowing a bread machine from a friend and I can't wait to try it.  The biggest problem is that all the reviews I've read say do no use the recipes that came with the book b/c they make horrible bread.  Does anyone have any good bread machine recipes or website recommendations?

YES YES  IDO I DO!!! LOL, I got a bread machine tried 1 recipe from the book, said forget this crap and then found the following recipe altered it and we love it! ( I figured over 1,400 people who had reviewed this couldn't be wrong...)

"best bread machine bread"

1 cup warm water

a little less then half 1/4 cup maple syrup (you may also use honey or sugar this really doesn't matter)

1 package or the equivalant of yeast

1.5 tsp salt

1/8 cup 7 grain cereal mix

1/8 cup quick cook oats (like minute oats, do not use rolled)

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 and 3/4 cup bread flour (you need bread flour since you need the extra proteins/glutens to help the bread)

a little less then 1/4 cup butter or any type of oil

Mix the water, maple syrup, and yeast together in the bread machine, stir around once or twice until just mixed,  allow to proof (in other words, let it sit until it is foamy and the bubbles start forming and bursting.) then add the other ingredients on top of this. Set machine for white bread, light or medium crust, and 2 lb loaf. Wait until the machine makes a lovely fluffly loaf of bread and enjoy!!!

orginal recipe f you want plain white bread, I find it lacking in flavor but still fun to make!
