ISO trim wool cover that resists compression leaks

Thread Starter

I currently use Loveybums wool jersey covers over Tiny Tush Hemp OS dipes and I'm having a darned time with compression leaks when she's in the sling or BOBA, which is most of the time.  DD is 8 mos, 25 lbs and a pretty heavy wetter. She's not terribly chubby, she's just a big girl.  Anyway, I'm going to add some BabeeGreens hemp doublers to her daytime diapers but I've got to get a different cover.  I really want to continue to use wool but I'm so over getting peed on all the time.  I'm really not a big velcro fan, but I wonder if something felted like a Baby Beehinds Wool Wrap work?  Anybody got any good ideas?

I find the Woolly Bottoms covers do a good job of holding it all in while still being trim.

I'm a a big fan of wool interlock covers and haven't had issues with compression leaks. My favorites are bumby, royal buns and sbish. It's important to remember that your wool is only as good as the diaper underneath so adding doublers seems like a great idea.

Absorbency is definitely an issue w compression leaks. But my best most bulletproof is a wool flannel wrap from Pipers Closet.

We have used Imse Vimse Bumpy Wool wraps with zero issues.  Even on a week long drive across the country, with LO in the car seat for 8 hours per day.

I had four wraps, and if it weren't for a poo issue I would have only needed two.  When we took off the wrap it would feel nearly dry by the time the diaper change was done.  Then I'd just set it on the back seat, and it would be dry for the next diaper change.

These are also machine washable.  I've never had to lanolize, just wash in Eucalan.  They accidentally went through the dryer too, with no problem.

They do have velcro, but it's the most well-performing velcro I've ever had.  The whole tummy area is made of the soft loop side, and the wings have a very tall narrow strip of hook with plenty of protection from the tummy scratch.  There are also snaps to help avoid wing droop.

A very, very well designed diaper cover, IMO.

Oh ... inside we used Green Mountain's flats (small).  Right now, at 9 months, we still pair this wool wrap with a GMD medium flat, and a hemp doubler.  It's pretty trim (pad folded), and it is half dry most mornings.

Never a leak with this system.

We also like Imse Vimse wool covers. I wish I had more!
