Just want to go into labour!!!

Oh man!  This is really just for venting:

I SOOOOO WANT TO GO INTO LABOUR NOW!

I was 38 weeks on Friday with b/g twins, the whole freaking pregnancy you stress about going into premature labour and then it feels like you're bound to be pregnant forever!

Dont get me wrong - I am so so greatful that my babies were not born early and that they are as big as they are, but the physical demands of the pregnancy is becoming too much for me to handle now and I can literally not walk or stand for very long, I am SWOLLEN all over, my feet look like they're about to burst and my legs are swollen too.  Medically everything still fine, urine is clear, BP is low, enough amniotic fluid, they seem VERY comfy where they are, all blessings - but

COME ON!!!!!

I dont want to have to choose my babies' birthday and it is fast approaching that scenario.

No signs of labour other than mucous plug that comes and goes for the past two weeks now, last gynae checkup revealed about 1.5cm dilated and baby A not fully engaged (second preggo).

Sorry for being such a ninny, I just had to vent to someone who will understand.

Hang in there, it must be frustrating, but just think how big and strong your babies will be when they come!

If you feel like it you could start doing some gentle induction tricks, most won't work unless your body is nearly ready, so there is no real harm. I think first of cervical ripening. Semen, and EPO both do a good job for that, depending on how you feel about each of them.

As for the swelling, yeah that's a bummer, compression socks saved me when I had some of that, and drinking literally 2 liters of water or more a day, it really helps.

I can certainly understand that done feeling. You got those babies to full term and now you want to see them. I hope you wake up to broken waters and contractions tonight!

You have done such a great job so far!  Congratulations to you on making it this long and carrying healthy babies to term!

I can totally sympathize with you, I had my girls at 38w2d after refusing an induction.  I had a great natural vaginal delivery and while I do not regret turning down the induction AT ALL, by the end I was physically done - my feet were swollen so much that I couldn't wear socks without cutting off my circulation, I couldn't sleep, I was just ready to be done!  Good luck with your birth!!  It won't be long now :)

Hang in there, Mama-- you have nothing but sympathy here!

Yep totally could have written this post. But you have definitely hung in there longer than I could have. Can't sleep, can't walk, can't drink water without getting heartburn? It's depressing. Had some insensitive idiot tell me yesterday she thought I'd go 39 weeks. DH had to hold me back! I'm totally sympathetic and sending you lots of good labor vibes for a quick and happy delivery very soon!

Could've written your post here, too.

36 weeks and so over it.

Sometimes, I feel like this is my punishment for being that (internally, of course) smug pregnant woman my last pregnancies who "loved" being pg... I think at one point I actually wished to be able to carry DD for another month or so (she was born at 42 weeks) This time, I'm going to rip my hair out if I get to 39 weeks. LOL.

Don't want to hijack, just to send my empathy, too.
