Frequent Illness -- Ideas?

A little background information:

My ds is almost 18 months old.  He is in daycare part time.  Unvaccinated.  We eat a good and balanced diet of natural foods.  He does not eat cow dairy, eggs, or tomatoes because they give him a rash.  He is breastfed, and I eat all of those items.

Since the week before Thanksgiving he has had:  5 stomach bugs, 2 fevers, 2-3 colds (the most recent lasting over a month), and now (in addition to vomiting last night and having a lingering cold) he has goopy eyes -- which I'm sure he picked up from a child at daycare who I noticed had a really goopy eye.

He's been to the chiropractor several times during this period and had at least one regular exam with our family doctor.  When he's not puking, I give him echinacea tincture, elderberry tincture, vitamin D drops, and probiotics.

Is this normal?  Is there something I should be doing to help him?  Is it possible that there is something else going on that I should try to address?

I'd love to hear any experiences you have.  He is ill much more than my dd was, and people who know us have expressed concern, especially that he's vomiting so frequently.  I have gotten a couple of the stomach bugs, and dd got one of them, so I know at least sometimes it is actually a bug causing the vomiting.  For me they only lasted 24 hours, but for him they last 3-7 days.

If your gut says something's going on, go back to the doc.

This winter/spring has been particularly bad for bugs.  My husband is that guy who gets sick maybe once eery two years, but this year, he's been sick quite often.  The doc said that's just how it's going this year, but not to worry unless there's a prolonged high fever, signs of dehydration, or a lot of pain aside from the usual aches of being sick.  And I'm usually the one sick all the time, but this winter/spring, I've been pretty well!

Still, listen to your gut, especially on that vomiting, and watch for signs of dehydration.

I hear you!  DD has gotten sick after sick this winter.  It wasn't like this last year.  I assumed it's because she's a toddler now and moe exposed to things?  However her toddler friends don't seem to get as sick so much...Our DD is also like yours, unvaxxed and eats healthy organic food, I give her vitamin D daily, probiotics when I can get her to take them, etc.

As an aside, I'VE gotten sicker this year than I ever can remember.  I assume I am getting it from her?  I am actually on day 11 of the flu right now.  DD is on day 14 but I think she's finally almost over it.  I get afraid to take her out sometimes because I am always on edge waiting for the next illness this winter.  But we have to go on with life so we just keep going....
