A little background information:
My ds is almost 18 months old. He is in daycare part time. Unvaccinated. We eat a good and balanced diet of natural foods. He does not eat cow dairy, eggs, or tomatoes because they give him a rash. He is breastfed, and I eat all of those items.
Â
Since the week before Thanksgiving he has had:Â 5 stomach bugs, 2 fevers, 2-3 colds (the most recent lasting over a month), and now (in addition to vomiting last night and having a lingering cold) he has goopy eyes -- which I'm sure he picked up from a child at daycare who I noticed had a really goopy eye.
Â
He's been to the chiropractor several times during this period and had at least one regular exam with our family doctor. When he's not puking, I give him echinacea tincture, elderberry tincture, vitamin D drops, and probiotics.
Â
Is this normal? Is there something I should be doing to help him? Is it possible that there is something else going on that I should try to address?
Â
I'd love to hear any experiences you have. He is ill much more than my dd was, and people who know us have expressed concern, especially that he's vomiting so frequently. I have gotten a couple of the stomach bugs, and dd got one of them, so I know at least sometimes it is actually a bug causing the vomiting. For me they only lasted 24 hours, but for him they last 3-7 days.
