Two month-old doesn't want to nap!

My LO is a little over two months old, and I think she has decided that she's wasting precious time by napping. A couple of weeks ago, I discovered that if I swaddled her and put her in the swing, she would sleep for 4-5 hours straight and I'd actually have to wake her up sometimes!  That only lasted about a week. Since then she's been having tiny cat naps throughout the day. She seems to be at a weird stage: on one hand, she easily gets overwhelmed/overstimulated, but she is also so interested in the world that she's fighting sleep. She sleeps great at night! (in bed with us)

I guess the reason I'm posting this is to see if others have had similar experiences at this age. I've been wondering if she'd benefit from being put on a schedule. It's very obvious when she NEEDS a nap because she's fussy and unhappy.

DS was very similar at that age!  I used to call him the napless wonder.  I found the trick to it was getting DS down for a nap the minute he showed the sign of being tired, even if he'd only been awake for an hour.  At that age I was literally putting him down for a nap about an hour after he woke up for the day!  It's almost like you have to sneak up on them and get them down to sleep before they realize they're tired.  I also had his swing up in his room, with the shades drawn and the white noise machine on.  He was very alert and really needed all stimuli blocked out.

For us it was even before she showed signs of being tired-- if she'd been awake for an hour (at that age; around 4 months it was 90 minutes and 6 months it was 2 hours), I just immediately started winding her down for nap. She was one of those babies who you just couldn't push it with-- no "let's see if you can go 10 more minutes" type of thing. If she was showing signs of being tired, it meant she was already overtired and she'd have a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep.
