Does this sound like a dairy allergy? or long lasting flu?

DS is about to turn 2 and has had some bouts of vomiting on and off now for 3 weeks.  At first I thought it was some flu bug, but now I wonder.  He will vomit one day, have no fever at all, act fine afterward, be fine the next day, and then two days later throw up again.  Every time he's thrown up, he's just had a big glass of milk and it ALL comes back up.  He seems fine with cheese and yogurt.  And he can even drink milk in moderation along with other food and he seems to be fine.  In hind sight, as an exclusively breast fed infant, he did spit up more forcefully and much more often than other babies I know now, but he was my first and the doctor always said spitting up was normal.  I did eat a ton of dairy while breastfeeding.  I'm a cheesaholic actually bag.gif

Just wondering if this sounds like anyone else's experience with milk allergies.  If he's allergic to milk, could he have been OK with moderate amounts of it from 14 months to 22 months and been fine and then all the sudden start reacting this way? I have no known allergies, so I don't have much experience with this.

DS used to vomit milk (well, ice cream because we had no liquid milk in the house because I react poorly and wouldn't give it to the kids), and he ate cheese regularly w/o issue.  Tolerances can change, say it was marginal and an illness or other stress reduces the tolerance, and it does seem like some people react differently to plain milk vs fermented/cultured.

And some kids have something of a tolerance--DS tolerates a fair amount of soy before it's an issue, which is part of why it took me forever to see the effect--and I even knew that dairy was an issue, and we'd removed it, and I knew that dairy and soy are hugely cross-reactive.
