8 weeks and hardly any symptoms

Thread Starter

I almost feel a little stupid asking , but I am almost 8 weeks pregnant now and I have hardly any symptoms at all .

No sickness (morning or any other time of day) , no breast tenderness , but I have to add to that , that I had my last baby 10 months ago and was breastfeeding until December , so I don´t know , if that has anything to do with it .

The only noticeable thing is , a real sensitivity to smell , and feeling dizzy a lot .

Plus , we already had an US and they could not only see the baby , but we also checked the heart beat with a doppler and it registered with 177 beats per minute .

So , my question , could that indicate a problem or does it mean , that I am simply lucky ?

You heard the heartbeat...wohoo!

That "typically" means everything is great.

Count yourself as lucky!

I'm a day shy of 8 weeks and I also have little to no symptoms (today).  My other pregnancies were similar; and my nausea didn't really pick up until 8+ weeks anyways.  Some days I was naueous and so sensitive to smells and other days I felt "normal".  This preg I expected soreness as I am nursing (like my last preg) and I've experienced none.  The last couple of days I was nauseous and that made me feel so much better about health of the baby.

I am in almost the same spot as you.  I am 6 weeks preg, and I have a 1 year old that I am still BFing.

With my first pregnancy I threw up every day for 3 months.  Oddly enough, I felt fine until a few days after I started taking my prenatal vitamin.  Then I would throw it up every time after that.  I believe my body was trying to get rid of that poison.  I was stupidly taking a One-A-Day Womens Prenatal from Walmart.  I later looked at the list of ingredients, and there is everything from anti-freeze to artificial colorings in it.  I am now taking Super Nutrition Prenatal and I have not felt sick at all.  It has no extra ingredients, no colorings, etc.  Only vitamins.  No garbage!  I believe that this is a HUGE reason that many women experience nausea, because everyone takes prenatals, and most take the nasty ones!

Yeah for a heartbeat!  I have not experienced many symptoms with any of my pregnancies and know others who haven't as well.  I think that this is just another "normal" way to experience pregnancy!

I didn't have any actual nausea, just food aversions that started around 5 weeks and came and went until about, well, now (19 weeks). I haven't taken a prenatal either. Actually I tried to take a B-complex but gagged it up so stopped. Also sensitivity to smell and sore boobs that started later on. I think almost any combination of symptoms is normal. Hooray for hearing a heartbeat!

I vote lucky. I felt that way during pretty much all of my first pregnancy. But boy, did I ever pay for it during my second pregnancy! lol.gif

I'd vote lucky too...  With DS1, I was pretty much symptom free until I started to get big.  Then my hips started to go...  Ooof.  Enjoy the symptom free days while you can, and CONGRATS!
