Ready to wean but not baby

Thread Starter

Hi,

My daughter is 11 mos. I want to wean her as soon as she can drink cow's milk, but she is so attached to my breast, literally, that I see ahead a huge struggle. I've been getting her used to the bottle these past two months, pumping enough milk for one feeding, but she still will accept it only after much fuss. I'm worried she is going to want to nurse well into toddlerhood, and that just won't work for me. Any tips on how to make this transition smooth for the both of us?

Thanks!confused.gif

Well, there are many ways to wean and you could search the breastfeeding forums to pull up threads with suggestions.

However, I would like to know your reasons for weaning because there may be ways to work around and/or within those reasons and continue nursing. I do not wish to flame you or demean you or anything like that - I truly want to get a full picture of your situation, so I and other mothers can really give you the best information.
