vacation deals

Thread Starter

I'd like to take my two oldest girls somewhere warm next winter.  Lots of time to plan and save.
I have never gone south myself so I have no idea where to find the deals.  We'd only want to go for 5 or 6 days, and the location isn't really important as long as it's warm and safe.

Any guidance?

You should probably look at an all-inclusive resort if you want warm and safe. That way you can enjoy the weather and never leave the property. Food would be included and it would be easy and relaxing.

As for low prices.. if you find a good deal, let me know!

We have been to two all-inclusives, one south of Playa Del Carmen Mexico (just a few months ago) and the other in the Dominican Republic.  The best way to get a good deal is to book a vacation package that includes the airfare, transfer to the hotel, and the hotel package.

Check out Liberty Travel, Apple and GoGo.  In doing our research, I would see those names over and over again on the travel forums.

The Dominican Republic is the cheapest island in the Caribbean. It is larger and has the largest number of rooms. There are several all inclusive resorts- look at the amenities and check the menus. We chose a more expensive resort to get more variety and more vegetarian options. Be sure you will be happy with what is available before you commit. Punta Cana has several moderate all inclusives.I don't know where you live-since you said you have never traveled in the South before- maybe Florida would be another option. There are lots of attractions near Orlando and dozens of hotels.
