HELP - anyone know about retaining walls? Mine just collapsed.

Just heard a loud noise and went upstairs to yell at the dog.  LOL.

Not the dog.  :(

A big portion of one of my retaining walls just collapsed.  The fallen portion is about 4 feet high and maybe 6 feet long.  Called my gardener but it is late in the day so I don't expect a call back until at least tomorrow. 

Can I let that go or...?  That area has two levels with retaining walls.  I don't want more to fall but I'm also not really sure what in the world I could do about it.  I think I could pick up the stones but I'm honestly not sure.

Okay so this wall is on the interior of the house, second level? Are you sure it is a retaining wall or just an interior wall? What are the stones from?

No, exterior!  I didn't explain that very well, did I? 

Since I posted, DH got home and agreed it wasn't really structural, just decorative for the different levels of plantings.

And my guy got back to me and will be here tomorrow to fix it.  *whew*

But seeing a big pile of big rocks kinda freaks you out for a few minutes.
