Baby has itchy, watery eyes

And a really really runny nose, plus a cough from the postnasal drip.  His eyes are so watery he looks like he's crying, and he keeps rubbing them.  The discharge is clear, it just looks like tears.  And his snot is clear and very very thin.  It's been this way for three days and he has been super fussy.  Everything else seems normal - peeing, pooping, nursing surprisingly well.  Sleeps terribly but he always sleeps terribly, this just means he's wanting to nurse every hour instead of every two.  No fever.

I assumed it was just a cold but the watery eyes are throwing me.  That says allergy to me, but to what?  He had green beans & brown rice for dinner Saturday night which were both new foods.  He had dinner, then bath, then went to sleep and he woke up with all of these symptoms.

Any thoughts?  Could a food allergy present itself this way, for this long?

I don't know where you live, but where I am, it has been really windy the past couple of days, and whatever crap's been in the dust and wind has been doing a number on my girl's allergies. Same symptoms as you're describing, and they're the same ones I have with my seasonal allergies. So my guess is seasonal allergies rather than food allergies.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too, that it seemed like allergies but not necessarily food.  I am in northern New England so it's early for allergy season, though we are having a huge melt off right now - warm enough that we are getting rain instead of snow.  Boy is he ever miserable though... poor baby.
