The article explains that Dr. Atala has succeeded at treating injured Mexican youths by culturing their own cells to grow a transplantable urethral tube.  No anti-rejection drugs are needed. 

This concept makes the case for leaving hypospadias cases intact until they can both weigh in on their own treatment and also benefit from these evolving therapies.
