vaginal delivery after cone biopsy

Can anyone give me any information on vaginal delivery after a cone biopsy.  I had the cone 3 years ago and am due in October.  I had a 12 hour homebirth with my first child(before cone) that was very normal.  I am nervous this may impair my ability to dilate due to scarring on my cervix.  Do any of you have experience with this?  Is ther anything I can do during my pregnancy to help with this?  Evening primrose or vitamin E maybe?  Thanks.

I'm not a birth professional but I am a birth junkie.  I had a cone biopsy when I was around 18 years old and I personally had no problems dilating. :)

Hi .... ditto for me, had a cone, and dilated like a banshee!

My problem was being dilated early on in the pregnancy -- had to go onto bedrest.  Not sure if it was related to the cone.  I just got lots of very early contractions...

I was never told that it would be an issue in terms of delivery.

I had a cone biopsy followed by a LEEP conanization about four years before I had DS1.  Went to 42w5d with him, and had a totally normal 12 hour labor and homebirth.  I did take EPO for the last month or two to help soften things up.

Thanks so much for your replies, I keep reading all of these horror stories which NOT what anyone needs to hear when they are pregnant.  Although, I would like to be properly informed to be prepared.  One question: did you all have a cold knife cone? How extensive were your cone's, did you need a cerclage?  Thanks

I just realized I did not have a cone, I had a LEEP proceedure.  SEeing the other post reminded me.  I think it is a degree of depth, right?

With me, a cerlage was mentioned because I was dilated at 4 months about 1 cm... all thru the preg and I had lots of contractions.  But it was felt that might irritate things more and it wasn't done.

So, no, didn't need it.
