I'm not necessarily talking about STTN vs. waking every hour... But as far as where everyone sleeps, how everyone falls asleep... What's your ideal for your family, and how far are you from it? What are your sleeping goals?
For me, I only have my 6 month old. I'd really like him to be able to fall asleep for my husband, or a sitter if we ever needed it- right now I lay down with him in my bed, and sometimes he'll nurse to sleep, sometimes he gets the paci and just cuddles. We're still swaddling him, which I'm okay with, because he had pretty severe eczema and cradle cap and was scratching whenever his arms were free- he's mostly baseline right now, and breaks out of the swaddle more often than not, but still seems to settle down better with it.
Â
He's pretty good about sleeping alone in our bed until 10:30 or 11, but after that won't fall back to sleep without me in bed with him. Very occasionally I can put him in the cosleeper and he'll sleep for about an hour before I bring him back in bed with me.

Ideally, I'd love for him to sleep in his cosleeper, or even in his p&p in the other room, for at least his first stretch, and then I'd bring him into bed at his 2am wakeup. I do love waking up to my little monkey in the mornings
but I'd really like some more freedom at nights.
