Leaking leaking leaking

So DS is 15 months and I swear he pees more than any child I know. I am about to give up on night time cloth for awhile, in order to deal with nighttime sleep, but need some help on days.

He is currently in Med (green edge)diaper rite prefolds.

With a regular PUL cover.  They are bummies whisper wrap covers.  I got them as hand me downs, so they are old-maybe 8 years, 2 kids.

But, I also have some new Imse Vimse and a couple of econobums.  All of these seem to be leaking, so I am starting to think it is the diapers.

The prefolds seem small for him, but they are supposed to be for 18-28 lbs or so and he is 20 lbs max.

Is it time for bigger prefolds, or new covers? HE pees soooo much.  When he goes diaper free, the amount of pee and how often he pees amazes me.

You might want to consider getting a few hemp inserts to put under the prefold/on top of the cover. Hemp is super absorbent and fairly trim (trimmer than microfiber anyhow) so it would add a layer of absorbency without adding a lot of bulk. Nighttime can be hard, because our LOs are lying in their diapers for hours just peeing and peeing, lol! This is why I change my DD at least once a night. She wakes up often enough to nurse anyhow, so I just change her before one of our nursing sessions begin.

It sounds like you need more absorbency. Is the diaper soaked all over when you change him? If could be time for bigger prefolds, more frequent changes, or adding a hemp doubler to hold more pee (they hold a lot more than the same size of cotton).

Makes sure the prefold is tucked in the cover at the top and legs to prevent wicking leaks.

If the leaks are mostly with the older covers, it may be time for a replacement, but those covers are workhorses so they may still have lots of life in them.

My son is going through another super soaker phase now so I can relate.
