NIP Question - Any Georgia moms out there?

Hi, I am traveling with DS to Atlanta, Georgia and just wondering what if any laws there are on NIP in Georgia?  I haven't had an issue with NIP before, but like to know my rights before I travel somewhere new.

Thanks!

You're allowed to nurse anywhere in GA you and the baby are otherwise allowed to be, but the law has no teeth.  You could still be asked to leave any privately owned establishment and they would suffer no legal consequences.

I've nip-ed all over the place in the metro ATL area and never had a problem.  I only ever had one person comment negatively and when she complained to the server (we were at a restaurant) the server stood up for me.

My favorite nip place in ATL was in front of the viewing window for biggest tank at the GA aquarium.  Sort of peaceful and other worldly.

Found the law

Quote:
Ga. Code § 31-1-9 (1999) states that the breastfeeding of a baby is an important and basic act of nurture which should be encouraged in the interests of maternal and child health and allows a mother to breastfeed her baby in any location where the mother and baby are otherwise authorized to be. (1999 SB 29, Act 304; 2002 SB 221

I doubt anyone will give you a hard time in ATL!  I hope not.  enjoy your visit, and if anyone gives you a hard time, i'll come to the nurse-in protest ;)
