Have you bought your kid's glasses from the internet?

If so, did you have a good experience & could you recommend a seller?  How long did it take? How did you get them adjusted?

I've never even thought of buying glasses online, actually.  I've been wearing glasses since I was 10, and my daughter has worn glasses since she was 2.  We've bought glasses from the optometrist's office, and without insurance I have gone to Walmart.

I find it hard to judge the size and fit of glasses without professional help, especially for kids.  Heads come in different sizes, some people's eyes are more widely set apart, or your nose might be a different shape.  These factors can affect how glasses look on each person, I wouldn't buy a pair without having tried it on.  Kids glasses come in different sizes too, what fits a 2 year old may not fit a 4 year old, etc. A professional can help find an exact fit in a way that is hard to judge from a picture.

I have only bought DD's glasses at walmart. (she's had them for 1.5 years now, got them right when she turned 4). My father is an ophthalmologist and he actually recommended we go there (versus having him get us glasses).  I've been thrilled with walmart- it costs us about $10 per frame (we've tried more expensive ones, and they break just as often as the cheaper ones) and $29.99 per pair for scratch resistant poly carbonate lenses.  Each frame has a 1 year warranty.  we usually have 3 pairs at any one time and when two of them are broken or need adjusting (this will happen a lot with younger kids since they tend to pull the glasses off with one hand and this stretches the hinges) we go to walmart and they either replace them for free or adjust them for free.  many times we are able to get the replacements immediately, since they just pop the lenses into new frames that they keep there.  it has definately been the easiest and most affordable way to do it.  FWIW, DD has always chosen super cute, fashionable frames, all from the 10-15 dollar range! we tried the flexible frames (about $120 without lenses) but they were TOO flexible for her sized face, and we couldn't get them to stay tight enough.

with kids, i'd never get on line glasses since they seem to need adjustment often (sometimes, they are actually causing her pain if the ear piece or nose piece isn't sitting right) and get broken more often than (for example) mine or DH!

I have friends who order from Coastal Contacts when they have their free/cheap promotions.

I'm waiting for DD's first pair to come in at the ophthalmologist's office. He did recommend Walmart but I decided to order her's while we were still there.
