My youngest daughter (23 months) has multiple food allergies- the general trend until recently was of getting more foods "back" into her diet and tolerated, but the past couple of months we've had several setbacks- bigger and faster reactions to foods, especially face rashes immediately when eating, and have lost wheat/gluten and tomato again :( We're working on healing on several levels for her right now, but that's another story.

I've been treating a wart on her finger with cinnamon oil for the past two weeks. She gets a small drop at bedtime, covered by a bandaid to try to keep the oil out of her mouth. The treatment seems to be working and the wart getting a bit smaller. We eat cinnamon occasionally- in pancakes (usually every one to two weeks), in a chicken masala dish (probably a couple of times a month), and sometimes as a treat to top warm almond milk with honey (once or twice a month?).

Yesterday I gave her apples with cinnamon on top as a snack, and she had an instant red, blotchy face, and soon after a runny nose and runny eyes. My thought is that previously we've had cinnamon only occasionally (and in some ways rotationally), but that maybe the daily cinnamon oil has increased her exposure and reaction? I didn't use the cinnamon oil last night, and now I'm afraid to use it again- what do you think- is there or will there be cross reactivity between the oil and the spice?
