Hope for the bedtime battling Mamas!

I just wanted to share a little message of hope for those of you, like me, who have battled their LOs every night trying to get them to bed.

It was taking me over an hour to get DD to fall asleep each night, she would cry, I would often end up crying and it was leaving me totally stressed at the end of each night.

So last night I turned the baby monitor off so I couldn't here and had DH put her to bed. He came back down 20 minutes later all smiles to report that she didn't cry a peep, didn't ask for mama and drifted off peacefully while laid quietly next to her.

WOW...So maybe a radical change is what was needed to get her to sleep alright, we are going to try it again tonight with him doing it and hopefully it will turn into a much more calm and pleasant bedtime for everyone involved!

that's great mama! at around 9 months old we started having DH put DS1 to bed, and had the same results. Where he was fighting terribly with me forEVER, he went right to sleep for DH.

and even though he still wakes up 1-2 times a night, he does go to sleep very easily, and very quickly these days! He doesn't take a nap anymore though

I just had to brag a little (sorry for that everyone :))

The past 2 weeks before we tried this, I was coming out of the bedroom basically in tears of frustration and annoyance.

I love DD so much but she was making me insane at bedtime..

Last night DH got her to fall asleep in 20 minutes without a single tear. Although he is complaining that it isn't fair he has to put her to bed..I couldn't even believe that one. I have been having that battle for over a year and he is bored with it after 2 nights? Men....
