Sidecar mommas- how do keep her from falling out of bed?

I dont go to bed right when my DD does, usually about midnight (she goes to bed at 7pm)

How do I keep her in her crib while I am not laying there blocking the side to our bed? Our bed is dropped on the floor but there is still a 3 foot drop.

I'm at a loss what to do, and she is almost 10mo and is VERY VERY mobile. We are afraid shes going to crawl off the bed now. DH doesnt like it and thinks I need to put the crib back together.

My DD crawls to the end of the bend, whirls around, and slides off the slide, I bet yours could do this as well.  We never taught DD to do this, she just started all on her own.  Our bed is pretty tall  up as well.

We discovered this one night when we laid her down and walked out to see what she would do, we crept right outside the door, and watched her easily get herself safely to the floor.  If your DD can't do this yet, you may want to spend a few days practicing this with her, and maybe put some pillows in the floor until she can:)

Hi,

We have the same situation, except our baby fell out of the bed when he was about 11 months, even though he knows how to scoot off backwards. Our solution is that we have a crib matress on the floor that he goes to sleep on and then when he wakes to nurse at about 11,  we pull him in with us.

Hope that helps!

We bought a used video monitor on craigslist. Worth every penny. I even wrote a post a long time ago about how it saved our family bed and our sanity.
