Can both parents be involved in J Gordon's nw plan?

Hi mamas,

We are attempting to nw our 22mo dd by following Jay Gordon's nw plan. What I am wondering is if either one of us can go in during our 7 hours of not nursing? Will it be too inconsistent if we share the night time parenting during this time or should it just be me?. Anyone else share the 7 hours? Anyone have any tips or advice regarding this topic? Any input would be greatly appreciated since I am so scared to try this. TIA

I think it works better if you either of you can go in to sooth during the night-weaning process.  During the first two phases where you still nurse I would still do the night soothing, but once we go to phase 3 my husband had to take over.  I tried soothing him but he knows I have the milk . . .  It worked much better if only my husband went in.  Unfortunatley for my husband, 4 months later he still has to be the primary soother during the night.  I'm happy for the break though :)
