starting from scratch in NYC with two kids?

I have been a member since 2007 but this is my first post under this name for privacy/security reasons. I am strongly considering separating from my H. Right now we live in foreign country, I do not speak the language and don't have any friends or support system here. I am due with #2 in several weeks and have a four year old as well. We moved here in the fall and H's contract is for two years. We have been in counseling before we moved here and it seemed to work for us and thing were getting much better to the point that I agreed to and even encouraged this move. Things have changed a lot since we moved here and basically I came to realization that no matter what I do I will not make my H care about me or my needs. He as well revealed that he doesn't love me anymore but was trying to work on our relationship because he is a Christian and did not want to let me down. I can not look at my H without resentment and hurt and it is totally messing with my ability to deal with daily life and parenting my child. I want to move out. The only option for me would be to move to NYC where my parents live after the baby is born and is couple months old. In best case scenario I would be able to have about $1000/month as child support. I probably could stay with my parents for couple months until I find a daycare, job and place to live. I am crazy to even think about it? Is there any programs there that I could apply for assistance there?

Have you spoken to your parents about your possible plans?  Why do you need to wait until the babe is born?  Im not in NY but I would assume they have family assistance and I would think you could google stuff like that.

Since you have internet, I would start looking for job postings now, just to see what is out there.  Can your parents watch the kids, or will you need daycare?  Def. make some calls, email to your parents and see what they can do to help.
