. . . and my baby is still awake. He has slept a grand total of 45 minutes all day. I have zero time for me. Can I cry now? gloomy.gif

Could he be teething?

I have no idea. He doesn't have any teeth in yet. He's been gnawing on his fingers and well, generally everything for months now. He's power drooling lately, too. He seemingly dropped his midmorning nap last weekend, much to my dismay. And he hasn't settled into a new napping routine yet. And he won't nurse to sleep either. He's just fussing no matter what I do. I've tried a homeopathic, but I'm not sure if it made any difference. He ended up working himself up until he did want to nurse again, I did the PPO, inserted a binky, jiggled him for a few minutes and then put him down. NOW he's out. And it's almost midnight. sleepytime.gif

Oh you poor mama.  DS has had a cold and naps have been awful... I know just what you mean by not having any time for yourself.  You need those nap times to recharge your batteries!!

My DS is one week younger... the 8 month sleep regression actually starts at 34 weeks which for us is this week (DS was 1 week late).  That might be part of it!

I think I've seen you post before that your LO is not an easy sleeper.  Neither is mine.  I figure we've made it this far and lived, so if we just keep putting one foot in front of the other we can make it through until they sleep well?  Like at some point you're not entering the forest anymore, but leaving it?  That helps me sometimes, to think that this is probably going to go on for 7 or 8 more months but at this point it's the beginning of the end of this phase.

Not to hijack the thread but when does the 8-month sleep regression END???

Sorry to hear about the crazy sleeplessness Terri! Did you make any progress with a bedtime routine? That really is the key for us. DS seems to just snap into sleep-time mode after his routine. We've been doing it pretty much since he was born though- I don't know how long it would take to kick in if you've never had one before. I even use a modified version for nap-time and it works the same way.

My DS also did a reboot with the naps- he went from 3 to 2, but while he was doing that he flat-out refused to nap for a day or two, then only napped late in the day, then finally reset to one mid-morning nap and one afternoon nap. All that in less than a week.

I hope things resettle for you! This 8-month sleep stuff has been really rough around here too.
