Season 2 of Sister Wives starts this Sunday, 3/13! - Page 2

I love that show, missed it this week, I need to check when it's on again.

Anyone see the second episode? Thoughts?

Overall a little less painful than normal to watch - very interesting about the moms!! I also thought that they would have way more sister wives than just the two of them, but I guess they came to the decision kind of later in life.

Yay for the ring sling but ack! was she giving her a bottle of juice!?

Also I forget the girls name who got thrown off the horse... anyone think that might have warranted a trip to the regular Dr as opposed to *just* the Chiropractor (which I agree with going to) but she could have easily broken something. She seemed like she was in a lot of pain but it's hard to tell with editing and kids I don't know!

the girl who fell off the horse was Mykelti i think.  i do agree that she should have gotten checked out by a regular doc before going to the chiro.

i thought it was really sweet how kody and janelle's moms are now sister wives, and how they described the relationship.

I thought she should have gone to a doctor as well. She had a limp and a bad bruise on her side.greensad.gif

A chiro can do xrays in the office usually so I don't see the problem with her seeing that type of doctor.  I thought Wynn marrying Janelle's mom was a bit odd, but the two sister wives together seemed so happy and normal.  It was also nice to hear that Kody's mom was jealous of Janelle's mom at first.  It made them feel more normal, you know?  I didn't notice the bottle of juice for Truely, but I may have selectively blocked that from my memory.  lol.

Really?! Not mine... is your attached to a hospital or they have the machine in the office?

Right after I was married I worked for 2 different chiros and they both did X-rays in office. The one I go to now doesn't he teamed up with the local dr office and you go there. He doesn't do them only because of a lack of space because I asked I didn't like going to the dr office. There is another chiro in town and she does her own X-rays.

So I think you just never know.

I got bogged down in the first episode about how they were all so nervous about "Coming Out To The World!!!"  Hadn't they already made a sizable dent in that when they aired Season 1?  As for the public school...I wonder if it was advised that they do that, to make them come off as less "kooky" to viewers and/or the government.  I thought it sucked for the kids...and I wonder how it seemed to the kids that Meri's dd didn't have to go.

I was very moved by the two moms saying how they support the show, it's a big step into acceptance and legalization.

On the first point, no.  The first season had been taped, but not aired.  Then they started doing promos, and the today show called for an interview.  Then that probably aired live during the same week as the season opener.  We saw a tape of the today show but it was filmed last year.  Right when they came out.  They filmed the first season without people know who they are.

He has a machine in the office.  Every chiro I've ever seen has one.  Hm.  Maybe we're just weird here.  LOL.

I really get the impression that each set of children from each mother have different rules.  For instance, the fact that Janelle sends her kids to the ranch every summer but Christine's rarely goes seems to speak volumes to that affect.  It makes sense that each wife should have some automony in what her children do outside the home but maybe while they are at home they are more in-sync?

I also loved seeing the two moms married to Cody's dad.  They really seemed so sweet and well-grounded (because goodness knows Cody's antics and Robyn's crying just seems so drama-ridden at times!).  Personally, I'd love to have seen more of their lives because they are so much more settled and I'm be curious to know how they divvy up chores, husband time etc.  Also, does Janelle's mom and Cody's dad have any kids together?  I'm so bad a guessing ages that I have no clue if that's even possible...

Also who do you think will be the next mom to get pregnant?  I read somewhere that Cody said he wanted more kids.

Oh, and I loved seeing the baby wearing!  I didn't see the bottled you guys mentioned so maybe I was blocking that out subconsciously too. winky.gif

Ah ha, I see now about the timing of the Today Show, thanks!

Robyn.  She already feels marginalized for many reasons.  My DH can't stand Kody and is sort of annoyed that someone he thinks is so stupid has so much progeny, but he supports his right to follow his religion.

I've heard Kody twice say that his father "converted to a religion that practiced polygamy" but he didn't say what it was.  Are they FLDS, or are there other poly religions out there in Utah?

They've definitely said that they're fundamentalist mormons, as to what exact branch of that I have no clue.

I finally watched the 2nd episode. Very interested about Kody's dad and Janelle's mom. They said they (the parents) met when Janelle was going to marry Kody, so I don't think there would be any kids for the 2 of them since I assume she may have been too old. I also found is interesting that Janelle said her entire family cut her off when she married Kody, so I assume both she and her mother are totally cut off from the rest of the family. Not sure who all that includes (dad, siblings), but still sad. Can't wait for the next episode, I am curious as to when/why they move to Nevada. I heard on the promos they all move and each wife gets her own place. And I expect Robyn to get pg at some point too.

Last night right before I tuned in DH asked me "How can they afford all those kids and those houses?"  The next thing out of Kody's mouth was "The number one question I get asked is how can I afford this."  LOL.  He must make some major dough considering the size of their family and the fact he's driving a convertible Lexus.

It's a lot of kids for a basically 2 income family, even though Mary works I get the feeling she doesn't make much. I think its been said here before but Kody does sales and his car is probably a work related perk.

It annoyed me that he was like "We'll just pick up some sleeping bags on the way."  Um, you were all just complaining about being strapped for money!  I'm so glad Janelle has some sense.  She seems like the real brains of the operation.
