I'm convinced he was only doing that to show off his shirt-folding skillz, the ones he learned at The Gap when he was 16.

I would bring a quilt camping. redface.gif

i would totally (and have!) bring a quilt camping; that's just good sense given certain climates.  but shirts that need to be hung??

I have too many things to watch on Sunday night and I keep missing this, but I LOVE me some Sister Wives! love.gif

Does anyone know when the re-runs are on?

This week's episode was pretty scary.  I can't believe Meri waited 6 years to have a colonoscopy.  That was definitely living on the edge right there.  Now it looks like we have to wait 3 weeks until we see another episode.  Ugh.  I'll just add it to my list of shows on hiatus.

I would love to see a Robyn HB ep!  I love her quote about Kody not being on board but planning to do it anyway.  :)

I saw the news of another baby, that was fast.

I thought it was odd that Robyn said their relationships change when Kody was around.  Something about not wanting to offend a sister wife while he was around.  It felt like she was saying she would get in trouble with her husband.  The women don't really seem like the type to submit.

I think Robyn meant it felt weird to show affection to Kody when all the wives were together, because the wife giving/getting the affection might make the others feel jealous or like he likes the other wife more. I don't think it was anything that Kody tells them to do/not do. I can see that being an awkward thing, they probably just show more effection privately when it's just Kody and 1 wife. I can't wait until next weeks episode when they talk about moving, looks like it will be a good one.

I missed the first new episode and was bummed. I do plan to watch this season, I kind of like the moms and their dynamic. Kody is another story. eyesroll.gif

This week was the Christmas episodes.  Any thoughts?

I was a little annoyed that they didn't think to pack the cars the day before.  Personally, I hate running late so this was just a personal irritant for me.  LOL.  I can understand wanting to get away for awhile from all the media and stuff, but that seemed like one heck of hassle for only 4 days.

I felt really bad for the older kids that know that they're going to end up getting separated.  It's so unfair.  I can understand the reason behind having the laws against polygamy as far as welfare goes, but this case is totally different.  They're not on welfare (well, as far as we know, I think it would have come out already if they were).  So what is the problem?  It's okay for men to go around spreading their seeds to multiple women and never take care of them, but a big family with a loving father and loving mothers is prosecute-worthy?  Ugh.  It drives me batty.

I do wonder what all they think moving will fix? It isn't like they can just move to a place that no one knows of them. Well maybe a compound of like minded folks.
Will the show continue? I'm sure they must like the $.
Not to mention the headaches of finding new job(s) and selling such a specialized house.

I have to wonder if moving wasn't quietly suggested to their lawyer or something (like 'as long as they live in Utah, we'll have to do something about this').  Just a thought.  Anyway, they ended up going to Nevada where from what I can tell, just about anything goes orngtongue.gif.  At least there the odds are excellent that they won't face prosecution but I agree moving is really tough.  Given the situation though, I think I'd be doing the same thing.

Ah ok I was wondering why they were moving, it's not like the show was just airing in Utah! I did feel bad for the kids to move for such a scary kind of reason. It must be hard to live most of your life in one place and then up and move too.. I guess since I moved SOOO much as a kid though I know they'll make it. It sucks but it's not the end of the world.

I haven't been watching, but what type of prosecution could they possibly face? Kody and Meri are legally married and he isn't legally married to the others, hence no breaking laws there... What was the exact accusation? Makes no sense to me!

I think they are worried about the family (i.e., kids) getting split apart. I don't know what type of prosecution they would face, but from what I understand it is illegal. According to Wikipedia it is illegal in all states, though in some states its just a misdemeanor and in other states its considered a felony. In Utah it is a felony, so I'm guessing it would have an impact on their employment possibly? Jail time, etc.

I like watching this show. I think the wives are funny and it's interesting to watch them interact. Kody is kind of.... weird... lol  nut.gif

From what I understand in Utah even though he is not legally married to the other 3 him co-habitting with them is still illegal because he is married to Meri.  In other states it is not illegal

It is interesting because the laws don't make any sense.  They basically say you can't live with another adult you are married to (but funny how they don't prosecute one-on-one cohabitating couples and there's that whole freedom of association thing, privacy, etc.) or that you can't live with someone and say you are "married" to them if you are not (hello freedom of speech?).  I'd be very curious what would happen if one of those laws was appealed to the supreme court.  I can't fathom how it would fly constitutionally.  In the meantime though, I think the state of Utah considers them to be an embarassment and in all reality he was probably facing some sort of punishment.

Seriously... FWIW, there was a time that DH and I had another woman living with us.  Definitely no sort of "marriage" was going on! ROTFLMAO.gifBut at the time DH and I were both living in two different countries because of our job situation so I had a roommate to keep costs down. Thankfully we weren't living in Utah at the time! eyesroll.gif I wonder if you have any time limit that other adults relatives are able to visit otherwise you're considered married to them. winky.gif

I also wonder how well the law would actually go over in the Supreme Court.  I just can't understand why a father doesn't have a right to see his kids who he LOVES (assuming no abuse is going on) when a father who is a serial monogamist has visitation rights.  Doesn't make any sense at all!  I think part of it too, though, is if you legalize pologamy you're going to have to rethink a lot of tax codes/visitation rights etc so there would be a lot of laws that would have to change down the line.

They really thought they could afford 4 houses? Or one house with 15 bedrooms!
I still don't understand how they are going to move.
