"Milk" for a sick kiddo? What do you do?

DS has had one cold after another this winter. 18months, in daycare. He's had everything from just your basic snotty cold to full-on respiratory issues (and had to be hospitalized) to, most recently, Pink eye. DP feels like cow's milk is too mucusy, so he pushes Almond milk. I think in reality, he'd like us to use Goats milk period, but we haven't found a consistent supplier, so that's only when we get it. Right now it's just the Unsweetened generic you get at the store, for when DS is sick - Cows milk for your normal day.

I haven't done the research on mucus factors... what produces more/less. DS only gets less than 12oz a day in a sippy cup for going down at nap & night. Does milk really make a difference? And if it does, what kind of milk (outside of breast) would you recommend for when they're sick?

Cow's milk really can cause a lot of mucous in some kids. We still BF here. If I were you I would do goats milk or So Delicious Coconut milk.

Generic cow's milk can have extra hormones in it...and the cows aren't even grassfed...I would stay FAR away from that
