I'm pregnant for the first time!  I've been lurking around here for a while now, but now that I'm actually pregnant I am excited to get more involved.  My husband and I are thrilled to be expecting our first child.  I work for a nonprofit, and my husband and I own a photography business... we often shoot weddings, especially out-of-town ones - which couples tend to plan a year in advance - so we had a window of a few months to make a baby between already-booked weddings.  =)  No pressure or anything, y'know?  

We're leaning towards a homebirth with a great local lay midwife, but will probably also have a hospital midwife in case of transfer. 

I'm sure I'll have questions, so I'll be poking around the forums more now.  Nice to "meet" all of you and thanks for sharing all this great info - really and truly. On behalf of all the other lurkers, it's been a huge help. I feel like we've already made some big decisions regarding health care, delivery, parenting, etc. as a result of all the lurking.

I joined MDC last year when I was pregnant with my first, and you're right--it's such a great resource.  One of the things I most appreciated was joining my Due Date Club--it's great to go through your pregnancy (especially your first) with other mamas who are experiencing the same things you are.  I'd definitely recommend you check you DDC out!
