Non-chlorine bleach for cloth diapers?

Thread Starter

after about a month, my hemp/cotton CDs start stinking.  I use baking soda, vinager, detergent, everything, and they just stink and I cant get the stink out unless I use chlorine bleach, which I HATE doing!  I have not tried non-chlorine bleach, such as that by seventh gen, but I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with it getting stink out?

Any other advice for getting stink out would be helpful too!

I've had a lot of luck with non-chlorine bleach.  I alternate between vinegar and non-chlorine.

By non-chlorine bleach - you mean like oxiclean or another oxygen bleach I assume.

I use oxi-clean probably at least once or twice a month. With a TL it's easier to take advantage of it because you can easily soak all your diapers in it overnight or for a few hours. With FL, if you wanna do that you have to put them all in a bucket or something with the water and oxiclean. Oxygen bleach works pretty well though and I'd recommend it.

Have you tried an enzyme cleaner, such as Kids n pets or Bac-out?

I add a little bit of generic oxy-clean to the wash (my stash is too big to just soak once-a-month and get all the dipes at once)
